Does shoulder pain always mean a rotator cuff tear?
No. Several problems can affect the shoulder. Symptoms alone cannot tell you whether a tear is present.
Can a tear be painless?
Some rotator cuff tears cause little pain while still affecting strength or movement. Discuss changes in function as well as discomfort.
